ERC has extensive experience with the selection and implementation of trade capture, risk measurement, and risk reporting systems.
ERC has not observed any vendor software that meets all vendor claims or any system that is automatically capable of trouble-free implementation and deployment. ERC has resisted development of in-house software suites due to the inherent issues of conflict in assessing client systems needs and investment decisions. Therefore, ERC’s resources coupled with its lack of vested interest in selling its own systems make it a unique partner in assuring appropriate scale of investment, complexity and resources in the choice of risk management systems deployment.
ERC strongly recommends creating a system on a modular basis, choosing a core system of record that handles data and reporting well, and then selectively applying additional risk measurement, valuation, and reporting modules. In ERC’s opinion, no “off-the-shelf all-in-one” systems are suitable for stand-alone deployment. ERC can make available an existing comprehensive overview report of available off-the-shelf systems.
